If your like me, you’ve often thought to yourself, “How can I become the great Tyrant that I was always destined to be?” I think I can help some of you would-be tyrants in your grand crusades. So pull up a chair, light up a Cuban, take a sip from the cup of God’s Wrath, and prepare to enjoy my instructions on how to become a third world dictator!

1. If your country has a Constitution, destroy it or persuade others to ignore it.

I would not look to the United States Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012.-U. S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg during an interview with Al Hayat TV in Egypt.

The very reason that a nation has a Constitution is to prevent or at least minimize tyranny. Rome had a Republic, and then the Triumvirates sold the people on the idea that more power needed to be held by fewer hands. And then Caesar crossed the Rubicon, ignoring their version of the Constitution. Historians comment on the bravery, the audacity, of the great general for defying the Senate and establishing order. There is some truth to that assessment, but it is also true, that the ultimate fall of the Republic dates from that time. When the officials that are supposed to uphold the Constitution ignore it, scorn it, or corrupt it, the people’s slavery is in sight.

2. A tyrant can allow nobody to be greater than him/herself.

A story is told (I’m sorry, I can’t find the source right at this moment) of a tyrant that was having problems keeping his subjects under control. He wrote to a fellow tyrant in another city, asking him what he should do. The second tyrant thought for a while, and then took the messenger to a wheat field. As the messenger watched, the second tyrant took a scythe and cut down all the wheat stalks that were above a certain height. The tyrant told the messenger to tell his master what he had seen. Confused (and a little afraid) the messenger returned to his master, and reported what he had seen. The first tyrant understood perfectly….

Patron saint of mediocrity

Working in the corporate world has taught me that small minded men cannot abide anyone being smarter than they are, more talented than they are, having any idea that is n the least divergent from the party line. Everyone has to conform. Everyone has to be the same. Everyone has to watch football, joke lasciviously about the opposite sex, and mindlessly do as they area told. We live in a society of authoritarians. And as Erich Fromm declared in his contradictory book, Flight From Freedom, the people often would rather have the people above them be responsible for everything. Sure, I may not be free, but if I’m not responsible, then I am in no way to blame for the sorry state that the world is in.

3. As you weed out the great, be sure that you beat down the poor just enough….

I talked in my last post about how there may be elements in the government who want more poverty, because the poor, having less to lose, are more willing to give up their freedoms than are the rich, or the middle class. So once we have torn down those that are great, we must ensure that even mediocrity is punished.

So you are asking yourself, why does he write about the borders, when his title tells us he’s going to talk about the poor? I will tie all that in soon enough.

These were the points I made in the last two posts about the borders: 1) bring our troops home, 2) End the war on drugs and use those resources for 3)physically protecting our borders and coastlines, 4) enforce visa rules, and 5) stop trying to buy votes from illegals with false promises of amnesty. The last three points are these: 1) abolish the welfare state, 2) end birthright citizenship, and 3) streamline legal immigration.

1. It is long past time that we abolished the welfare state.

Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.-Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 19, 1787.

Perhaps you think that this point would be better placed in my articles about the economy. But the truth is, that the welfare state is one of the great incentives to illegally enter this nation. And this may make me sound like a conspiracy theory nut, but I think this is not altogether accidental. Despots have always tried to set themselves as benevolent providers. Julius Caesar ended the Roman Republic by making the common man believe that they needed his largesse and protection. From his point on, they became an empire, and in spite of the beautiful (but fictitious) story told in Gladiator, the Republic was never restored. Adolph Hitler took advantage of the crushing poverty WWI had incurred on the German people. Page 137-8 of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich:

The millions of unemployed wanted jobs…Some four million youths….wanted some prospect of a future that would at least give them a living. To all the millions of discontented Hitler in  a whirlwind campaign offered what seemed to them, in their misery, some measure of hope. He would make Germany strong again…stamp out corruption, bring the money barons to heel…and see to it that every German had a job and bread. To hopeless, hungry men seeking not only relief but new faith and new gods, the appeal was not without effect.

Its rarely the rich or the middle class that will sell their liberty for money. The poor and the desperate….those that feel they have no freedom left to lose…they are the desperate ones that tyrants can exploit. And the poor come to us in waves from nations where their hopes and dignity has been robbed from them. And we will gladly give it back to them…for a price…..

2. End birthright citizenship

This one is a little bit tricky, because it is established by the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution. It may seem a little contradictory of me, to be preaching for the strengthening of our Constitution, and yet arguing with one of its tenants. But I am not against the Amendment process. If you can get the process completed, then more power to you. I would argue that this Amendment, which was so vital at the end of the Civil War, has served its purpose. I remind you that we are not a democracy, but a republic. From Roman times, a republic had to right to decide who could vote, and who could not. For example, if you are convicted of a felony, I don’t care if you were born in the U. S….you’ve lost your right to have a say in matters that affect the both of us. I think this Amendment should itself be amended, if not repealed. I’ve believed for a long time that the franchise was too indiscriminate. When Romans found that they could vote for bread and circuses, the seeds of her fall were sown.

3. Streamline legal immigration

Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules. That these rules shall be as equal as prudential considerations will admit, will certainly be the aim of our legislatures….-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Hugh White, May 2, 1801

One of the great strengths of this nation is shared with ancient Rome. We are a nation of immigrants. More so than was Rome, in fact. So please don’t think that I’m calling for isolationism. I don’t want to keep out the Mexican, the Chinese, the Libyan, or the Jew. Everyone who is willing to abide by the law should be welcome in this great nation. And I realize that one reason for illegal immigration is the Byzantine process that seems so very arbitrary. I have read the stories of those that yearn so to come to our country legally, and yet are denied visas. This is nearly as wrong as not enforcing the visas at all.

I think I’ve written enough here. Though it is the end of the series, I hope I have at least provoked some thought. And, while I have shown myself ardently pro-Ron Paul….I hope that, even if you don’t vote for Ron Paul, that you will do some research, and some thinking and praying of your own, before you go to the polls this year.

1. Physically secure our borders and coastlines

Please don’t think that I’m suggesting that we build a fence between us and Mexico. If the Great Wall of China didn’t work to keep out the Mongolian hordes of Genghis Khan, what makes us think that a flimsy concrete fence could keep out airplanes and determined modern vehicular weaponry? But what I do think is that we could do a better job of defending our borders if the troops were here in the United States defending us from terrorists, instead of being forced to fight shadow wars with opium drug lords and glorified goat-herds on badly defined borders of nations that would rather be killing each other than us.

2. Enforce visa rules

Several of the 9/11 terrorists had expired visas. If there had been a little better enforcement, there is at least a chance that 9/11 could have been prevented. I realize that this might mean some reallocation of law enforcement. I’m not saying that it would be easy. And I absolutely understand that we don’t want to become an isolationist society where nobody is allowed in or out. Nor do I want a police state where everyone must show their papers if they are touring around America. I sometimes feel that the terrorists actually won. Sometimes I think that they succeeded in transforming our free country into the dystopic police state described in 1984. But we have to be both optimistic as well as vigilant. What if we fired a few TSA agents, and used those resources to hire police to enforce the laws that are on the books. I don’t know that we’d need stronger laws…..just enforce the ones that are already on the books. (And for those concerned about the fired TSA agents….they could possibly apply for the open police positions…..I know defending our borders is not as fun as groping grandma, but in this bad economy, we all have to make sacrifices!)

3. The Dream Act….in your dreams! Why give amnesty to those who don’t respect the law, when we have so many that have tried to enter legally?

I’ve documented it before, so I won’t rehash it again. Amnesty is largely just a power ploy by the powers that be to acquire mass votes. No, I don’t want black helicopters to swoop in and round-up the illegals….but neither do I want their ill-gotten votes bolstering the politicians that would round me up….

I happen to agree that our culture is in decline. Just now, I viewed a blog that World reported on. It was “EBing a Mommy.” It’s a blog written by a mother of a two-year old that suffered from EB, a rare disease that is devastating and often fatal to the children that suffer from it. I scrolled through this brave mother’s blog, and read of her struggles, and of the shock and grief she felt when her precious child died. It was a difficult read for a father to read. There’s absolutely nothing in the world more horrible to me than the thought of losing my son. Or the thought of him suffering. We live in a culture that preaches that we should throw away babies like that. We shouldn’t make that mother suffer the inconvenience of an unwanted child. And when I compare the depth of character of the mother of this sick, but wonderful baby, to all these vacuous souls that throw away their own offspring as though they were trash….how can this culture survive, when there are so few like Courtney Roth, and so many of the other kind…..

Its one of the reasons I do this blog. I want him to know what it is to be free. I want him to have a better life than I have had, or, at least, a chance at a better life than what I’ve had. We really don’t seem to be that concerned about our kids, any more. I go to unedited politics.wordpress.com, and I see all the old patricians trying to pretend enthusiasm for Romney, and I see all the young exuberantly embracing Ron Paul…..and I can’t help but wonder….which one really cares about America’s future?

I promised to spend three posts on how Ron Paul would be the best candidate at defending our borders. So I’ll spend a most of the rest of my time in this post on that topic. Because there is no Constitution, no point in gathering wealth, and no point in debating wars if the wars are brought to our own doorstep.

1. We’re losing the war on drugs. Maybe its time to send home the troops that are guarding the opium poppies, and have them guard us from paramilitary thugs.

I’ve documented how we have our military in Afghanistan guarding the opium poppies. Meanwhile, drug cartels have killed 48,000 people in their constant fighting, (World, Feb. 11, 2012, pg. 12) fighting that often spills over across the U. S. border. Only Ron Paul is talking about sending those brave soldiers home, so that they can actually do their jobs.

2. We need sane immigration policy, instead of just buying votes from illegals.

I absolutely agree with him that we need to secure our boarders. The best way would be to send the troops home to do this. But then again, if we can just keep our second amendment rights, we might be better able to take care of ourselves in these border wars.

I won’t rehash how the Republican elite is trying to steal a couple of states from Ron Paul. Other big media pundits have done that job, and I will link to some of those in my “related articles” section. (Hopefully the picture won’t be covering them this time…..)

I’ve been going more or less in order in my series on the five reasons why Ron Paul can save America. I believe I need to keep running with this. I’ll make this post largely about his foreign policy, and then do about three posts about protecting the boarders.

1. Ron Paul is accused of being against Israel. That is patently false and demonstrably untrue.

I was talking to some of my friends at work today, and I mentioned that I was supporting Ron Paul. And, predictably enough, one of my friends popped off with “Oh, Ron Paul is just crazy!” I didn’t challenge him. I just dove into another topic like the coward that I am. But the media has done a fantastic job of selling Ron Paul as the crazy person, the stupid buffoon. Perhaps that’s why I identify with him.

If you ask most people why they don’t like Ron Paul, they’ll tell you he would just let Israel (or America for that matter) just get nuked, and not retaliate. This is solid and rank b….alderdash……

So, let’s see….the Israelis bomb an Iraqi atomic plant back to the stone age in 1981. All the peaceniks are screaming. “Israel had no right to do that! How dare they!!!!!!”

Now, who was the one voice that wasn’t lifted in outrage? Why, our wicked non interventionist, Ron Paul. He felt that Israel had a right to defend herself. That doesn’t sound like the milquetoast he is billed as.

2. We are told that he is pro Iran, and that he’d not lift a finger to defend us against Iranian attack.

Because Ron Paul has been critical of the many wars we are waging, many people have made ad hominem attacks against him as being anti-American, or that he is a pacifist.

It accuses him of “unbelievable ignorance” during the debate when he is asked if a nuclear Iran was a threat to us. He may not have given the best answer (I often wish Ron Paul was a better debater), but I don’t see the ignorance of his answer. As I’ve cited in previous posts, we give seven times the foreign aid to Israeli enemies. Maybe if we quit propping up their opponents, Israel will be able to deal with her enemies as she has done for about forty years. And, as I cited above, when Israel dealt with Iraq in 1981, Ron Paul supported their action. Very few politicians did at the time.

The article asks “who declared war on the 1.2 billion Muslims?” Perhaps the writer of this article is ignorant of the 1953 CIA intervention that deposed the democratically elected leader, and set up the Shah? Look, I’m not even remotely saying that the hatred many Muslim’s feel for us is justified, but it is there. And I think it the height of ignorance to ignore that hatred. Non-intervention is not ignoring problems until they go away.Which brings us to….

I won’t belabor this one too much. I was listening to Jerry Doyle today. He played the spot where the pundit made fun of Ron Paul for his answer to “What would you say to Castro if he called you?” The answer, “I’d ask him what he was calling about!” was meant to be funny, but of course the media just laughed at Paul for his willingness to talk to enemies. But the US is now talking to the Taliban!

And half a world away, men and women fight for a nation that has largely abandoned them. They fight to make free a people who “hoard, and sleep, and feed, and know not…..” We do not know what freedom means, for we are enslaved to our own passions, and to bloated government and corporate greed. We know not God, for we were taught that He was discredited, and rather than looking up the sources, we took the stodgy professor’s word for it.

Don Henley has a song, The Garden of Allah. I’m listening to it as I type this. It’s a story about how the Devil appears in Hollywood, and goes away despondent, because we have already done his work for him….and done it better than he could. Sometimes, I fear that this may be the truth.

I’ve been writing about Ron Paul‘s foreign policy. Everyone tells me that its his Achilles heel. Ironically, Achilles is the greatest hero in the story, yet he is killed more by treachery than by prowess of arms or moral superiority. I also find myself scratching my head when people are basically calling Ron Paul a “peacenik,” when he is the only veteran in the current campaign, and has more monetary contributions from military personnel than all the other Republican candidates combined, and twice as much as Obama himself!

I’m going to continue writing for a while about Ron Paul’s “insane” foreign policy. I’m going to continue on the point of disentangling ourselves from organizations like the U. N. which severely limit our sovereignty. I’ll discuss the wars a little, and I’ll touch a little bit on the war on drugs, and how that is a foreign policy travesty.

1. We need to excuse ourselves from the U. N. at the very least.

Like I said in the last post, I get that we did what we had to do in WW II. And I get that we had a struggle for our very survival with the ensuing Cold War that devolved from the chaos of WW II. But those wars are over. Why are we still in Germany? Why are we still in Japan? Why are we fighting several shadow wars in Africa? What are we doing in Libya? What are we doing with Egypt? Why did we overthrow a democracy in Iran in order to prop up a Monarchist Shah? We’ve gotten Bin Laden. Why are we still in Afghanistan? We’ve gotten Saddam Hussein. Why are we still in Iraq? (Oh yeah…..we “withdrew” from that country….)

Please don’t confuse me with a “peacenik!” I absolutely agree with Reagan when he said that perceived weakness invited aggression from dictator regimes. But there’s smart war and there’s stupid war. And there’s smart ways to go to war, and foolish ways. I’m not going to debate whether this military action or that one was brilliant or not. I’m talking politics, not military strategy. I was all for the first and second Iraq wars, I was all for invading Afghanistan. But now….in retrospect, I’m not 100% sure that we did the right thing. And I’m absolutely certain that its time to come home. We did what we came there to do. Let’s end it. Bring the troops home, and let them start rebuilding our wounded nation. And we’ll leave Iraq and Afghanistan (and Africa, and Libya, and so on and on and on) to God and their own people.

I’m pretty strongly against drugs. I’ve seen how it destroys lives, and whole communities. Many times I have felt how very close to barbarism our society is as the masses seek to bury their miseries in the latest illicit high. I was very supportive of Ronald Reagan’s strong stance on drugs. But so many things that I have heard disturb me, and this video confirms some of my suspicions, and hints at other things that I have heard from veterans that have returned from Panama and Afghanistan. I fear that there are far too many in our government who are complicit in the very drug trade that they purport to be fighting. Why do we keep trusting in big government, when Big Brother seems to be acting more and more like a Colombian drug cartel thug!?

The difference between Rome burning and the Middle East caving into chaos is that Rome was Nero’s back yard, and the Middle East seems so very far away. They don’t even seem to be living in the same time as us. Our stereotypes of the Muslims make them seem to be stuck in the twelfth or thirteenth century. But as 9/11 demonstrated, what happens over there can have a serious impact on us, as well.

Its my intention to deal with the foreign policy of Ron Paul. It may be a mistake, but I’m not even going to document how the media has portrayed his foreign policy as insane. It seems like everyone and their dog talks about it (if they even know who Ron Paul is). My friends at work all say, “Yeah, Ron Paul….I love some of the things he says, but he’d let Iran nuke us…..”  So let’s see if we can separate fact from fiction, and see if Ron Paul’s foreign policy is so insane, after all.

There are three major points to Ron Paul’s foreign policy. 1) non-intervention in other nations. 2) Withdrawing from entangling alliances such as the U. N. and NATO. And 3) withdrawing foreign aid to foreign nations.

There are immigration issues as well, but I will deal with those in different posts.

1. non-intervention in other nations.

My policy has been, and will continue to be, while I have the honor to remain in the administration of the government, to be upon friendly terms with, but independent of, all the nations of the earth. To share in the broils of none. To fulfill our own engagements. To supply the wants and be carriers for them all : Being thoroughly convinced that it is our feeling and interest to do so. – George Washington

I’ve talked about it before, but I’ll say it again. The idea that the wisdom of our Founding Father’s is outdated is simply hogwash. The vast majority of their ideas are still relevant for our times. Of coarse, there is a degree to which the world has changed. World War II was unavoidable. We were going to fight it sooner or later, and in retrospect, it was probably better to fight it when we did.

It’s as simple as the golden rule. We don’t want other nations interfering with us, so why would we interfere with them? We don’t want foreign nations telling us what to do. The Chinese are chiding us for our mishandling our economic affairs. They are absolutely, 100% right, and yet we still resent it because we don’t want someone else telling us what to do! Absolutely, I want more democracy throughout the world. But its like one’s Christian witness. The more I wag my finger and tell you you can’t do this and you can’t do that, the less you want to listen to me. All I do is make you want to have nothing to do with Christ. I think that nations are the same way.

2. Withdrawing from entangling alliances.

It certainly is very desirable that a pacific disposition should prevail among all nations. The most effectual way of producing it is by extending the prevalence and influence of the gospel. Real Christians will abstain from violating the rights of others, and therefore will not provoke war.

Almost all nations have peace or war at the will and pleasure of rulers whom they do not elect, and who are not always wise or virtuous. Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers. Now, I’m not trying to suggest that we should only vote for Christians. If a Muslim demonstrates that he is the better candidate, then I would vote for him. My point is that the founders of this nation were not proponents of thoughtless warmongering. Even when it came to the Revolution, they exhausted attempts at reconciliation, before they drafted the Declaration of Independence.

As part of their principles of avoiding unnecessary wars, the Founding Father’s avoided entangling alliances that led to vast world wars, even in those times. We no longer live by these principles, as this video will demonstrate.

3. Withdrawing foreign aid to foreign nations

It may seem strange that I’m leading off this section of this post with this scripture verse. Everyone keeps telling me that Ron Paul is anti-Israel, and would just leave them to rot and die in a Middle East surrounded by foes. This is absolutely untrue. The truth is that, while we do give a lot of foreign aid to Israel, we do it in the most insane, counterproductive ways. First of all, we give seven times the aid given to Israel to their enemies! Cutting all foreign aid would be better for Israel than propping up their enemies. Second, we require Israel to use that aid by buying arms and supplies from the U. S. So, we’re getting our money back from Israel, any way. I wonder if we make the same stipulations to their enemies…..And my last point on this topic….Israel needed no American troop support in any of their major wars. They’ve demonstrated (perhaps even better than we have) that they can take care of themselves.

I promised to answer questions about Obamacare. I feel I did that, but I didn’t do it in a post. I answer them in a page that you can click on above most of these posts. It is “Obama‘s Valentine to America, Free Health Care for life.” But I feel I need to do at least one more post about Obamacare before I move on to Ron Paul’s foreign policy, and his ideas to defend our borders. So, while I wish Ron Paul had won in Maine, I’m encouraged that he did double his percentages from 2008 (though most conservative media outlets won’t report that). And he only lost be 200 votes. Not terrible for someone who either is taboo, or unelectable. I know I’ve documented the media deceptions, but I’ll throw out a couple more videos, and then finish up with my take on Obamacare.

Now that I have that out of my system, I need to tell you what makes Obamacare so bad for America?

I believe there are three reasons why the health care reform is untenable. I think it will actually 1) increase medical costs (we are told it will reduce them), 2) it will make insurance costs prohibitive to most businesses, especially small businesses, and 3) it is estimated to reduce physician salaries by 15% to 20% (but then, they make enough money any way….never mind their $100,000+ student loans that many of them have to repay…..)

1. Obamacare will increase, not decrease, medical costs.

It is an economic truth that government subsidies tend to increase the cost of things. Why do you think that farming is so heavily subsidized? People are told it is to keep the small farmers afloat and thus keep our food prices low. But the truth is that farmers have lobbied for about a hundred and fifty years for these subsidies, so that they can charge higher prices for food and make more money!

These costs will be passed on to the consumer, or will be paid for by laying off employees. You know that rich fat cat employers won’t pay for it out of their own profits if they can avoid it. This is sheer speculation, but I wonder if this was a factor in the recent Pepsi layoffs.

Look, I know a lot of you get mad when someone makes money. (Some of you will think me a hypocrite…I’m mad that Amore is getting two million dollars, not because I don’t want people to make money, I just resent it when they are rewarded by crony capitalism. The money Amore made is fine….but don’t reward him two million for shafting thousands of hard workers!) But the truth is, I want my doctor well paid. I want him to have an incentive to take care of me. How much care would you take of someone if you’re only making minimum wage? When it comes to people, you get what you pay for. When it comes to government, do pay for what others get…..

And these are the reasons Obamacare is not good for the country. The only candidate that seriously wants to repeal it is Ron Paul. And, as a doctor and a student of economics, I think he has a better understanding of the situation than any of the other candidates. I’ll leave you with a video to that effect.

My wife has a point. Everyone has been talking as though the nomination of Romney has been a forgone conclusion. Yet, last night, Santorum walked away with three straight, solid victories. Now, granted, we are Ron Paul supporters. But what last night showed is that….anything can happen. The court is wide open. At this point, this is anyone’s ballgame.

Sometimes, we as Christians forget that man isn’t really the one in control. God is. If we believe in God, and we believe that He is in control, then His will shall be done, irrespective of the schemes of Washington insiders. Man may look on the superficial outside of things, but God peers within our very souls, and sees whether we are worthy or not.

Too many Washington insiders are full of pride and arrogance. What America really needs is someone with humility. Another George Washington. Another Abraham Lincoln. Another king David.

Ron Paul is very humble man.  In the Bible 2 Chronicles 7:14 says “If  my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Two popular sports currently are football (duh!) and UFC. Both of these events are very much hard impact sports, very reminiscent of ancient Roman gladiatorial combat. Both of them involve top notch athletes that are built up so that they can tear each other down. Both are very closely related to raw combat. I can think of few sports that are more testosterone laced. And Donald Trump has had his hand in both, and has tried to capitalize on both.

And now we segue back into politics.

In previous posts, I related five reasons why I felt Ron Paul was the best of the candidates. I’ve documented my thinking and reasoning on the first two points, his strong stance on the Constitution, and his superiority to his opponents on economic issues. My third point was that he was the most likely to actually repeal Obamacare.

So I must first address two questions that most readers are likely to have. One is, what is so bad about Obamacare? The other is, how does all this tie into combat sports?

1. Obamacare is sold as a compassionate safety net to improve our lives, but is actually a socialist bid to control our lives.

It’s a bold statement. One that has been made by conservative talk pundits since Hillary Clinton first attempted it almost twenty years ago. But I think I can back it up relatively easily. I’m sure I’ll get some hate mail for it, but those are the breaks.

First of all, those who know me, and those who are following this blog, understand that I’m not one of these morons that thinks that there is nothing wrong with our health care system. I have personal experience with being turned away from a hospital. I’m not going to agree with people who say that no one is being turned away from hospitals. It is happening. It happened to me. My hand was infected when I was a night janitor making less than minimum wage (which is also how I know that there are some huge moral holes in our crony capitalist system). I went to the hospital with a smelly, oozing purple hand that I was certain I was going to lose (if I was lucky enough to survive the infection). The hospital asked if I had any money. They asked if I had any insurance. I had to say that I didn’t, since that was the truth. And they told me to get out.

So, yes, something is horribly wrong with our system. But I’m still not for Obamacare. God was kind to me, and spared my hand. But I’d have rather lost that hand, or, for that matter, my life, than to lose my liberty. The easiest way for the government to control our lives is to control us through our doctors. Doctors tell us how to live our lives. They have authority to give us drugs, and essential treatments. Those drugs and treatments have huge influence on the quality of our lives. Anyone that has read Brave New World will recognize the chilling resemblance between the current medico-governmental system of drug policy, and the state sponsored “soma” that kept “citizens” in a mild high that numbed the thinking just enough to ensure that people were content with everything the government did.

Of coarse, you may think that Obama himself is better than that, and that the current bill is nothing like that. I’ll cover these issues in a later post.

2. The current Republican candidates all define victory as repealing Obamacare. That is what most Republicans want them to do. But only Ron Paul will follow through with it.

I know. I’m talking about healthcare, and not war. These quotes probably seem more appropriate to commentary on foreign policy. But to me, Clausewitz (Sun Ztu, for that matter) place military science as subsections of politics. There are several good reasons for this, but the reason I wish to focus on now is that there are similarities between how a political campaign, and military campaign…and yes, a football game, are conducted. There must be objectives. You must have a well-defined goal. You have to define what constitutes victory. And you must have a strategy for attaining victory.

To me, whoever wins the election will still go down in defeat, if they don’t get Obamacare overturned. And I’ll write about that in my next post.

In the meanwhile, I’m going to post this video because I think it helps make my point. Besides, I’m a huge fan of Jerry Doyle (life has been so dry, since Babylon 5 went off the air).

I’m only posting this one video, because a lot of folks are telling me they don’t watch the videos. I still feel that they add to the power of my statements, but then again, the customer is always right.
