Pat Buchanan has been dismissed from MSNBC. He’s written a book entitled The Suicide of a Nation, and I guess it didn’t say the things his bosses wanted him to say. So now, Pat Buchanan is amongst the unemployed. Just when we thought the economy was getting better.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall revile you and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely….Mathew 5: 10, 11
I happen to agree that our culture is in decline. Just now, I viewed a blog that World reported on. It was “EBing a Mommy.” It’s a blog written by a mother of a two-year old that suffered from EB, a rare disease that is devastating and often fatal to the children that suffer from it. I scrolled through this brave mother’s blog, and read of her struggles, and of the shock and grief she felt when her precious child died. It was a difficult read for a father to read. There’s absolutely nothing in the world more horrible to me than the thought of losing my son. Or the thought of him suffering. We live in a culture that preaches that we should throw away babies like that. We shouldn’t make that mother suffer the inconvenience of an unwanted child. And when I compare the depth of character of the mother of this sick, but wonderful baby, to all these vacuous souls that throw away their own offspring as though they were trash….how can this culture survive, when there are so few like Courtney Roth, and so many of the other kind…..
Its one of the reasons I do this blog. I want him to know what it is to be free. I want him to have a better life than I have had, or, at least, a chance at a better life than what I’ve had. We really don’t seem to be that concerned about our kids, any more. I go to unedited politics.wordpress.com, and I see all the old patricians trying to pretend enthusiasm for Romney, and I see all the young exuberantly embracing Ron Paul…..and I can’t help but wonder….which one really cares about America’s future?
I promised to spend three posts on how Ron Paul would be the best candidate at defending our borders. So I’ll spend a most of the rest of my time in this post on that topic. Because there is no Constitution, no point in gathering wealth, and no point in debating wars if the wars are brought to our own doorstep.
1. We’re losing the war on drugs. Maybe its time to send home the troops that are guarding the opium poppies, and have them guard us from paramilitary thugs.
A generous parent would have said, “if there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.” Thomas Paine, Common Sense.
I’ve documented how we have our military in Afghanistan guarding the opium poppies. Meanwhile, drug cartels have killed 48,000 people in their constant fighting, (World, Feb. 11, 2012, pg. 12) fighting that often spills over across the U. S. border. Only Ron Paul is talking about sending those brave soldiers home, so that they can actually do their jobs.
2. We need sane immigration policy, instead of just buying votes from illegals.
We, the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution.-Abraham Lincoln
“Americans would be shocked to discover that hundreds of thousands of general election voters are illegal aliens, green-card immigrants, and criminals who’ve murdered, raped and robbed US citizens. And guess which political party benefits the most from their votes? The one that’s pushing for amnesty and a bag full of free goodies.” New Jersey GOP strategist, Janice Martin

Ron Paul has six point to defending our borders, and he lists them on his web site. I’ll try to deal with these six points in my next two posts.

I absolutely agree with him that we need to secure our boarders. The best way would be to send the troops home to do this. But then again, if we can just keep our second amendment rights, we might be better able to take care of ourselves in these border wars.
